High Volume Intercooler Pump

Purpose-built for tractor pulling and drag racing water-to-air intercooler systems, this brushless electric pump is recalibrated for full-power operation only (no variable-speed). The kit includes the pictured 3-wire harness for simple on/off control: ground, constant power, and a switch lead.

Key specs

  • Inlet/Outlet: 1″ hose connections
  • Approximate dimensions: 7.5″ L x 5.4″ W x 6.0″ H
  • Flow capability: up to 55 GPM (approximately) at low system restriction; maintains stronger flow at higher pressures than any other pump we’ve tested on the market
  • Electrical: 12 V brushless controller; plan wiring for up to roughly 25 A continuous. Use a 30A or larger inline fuse.

What’s included

  • High Volume Intercooler Pump (full-power calibration)
  • Pictured 3-wire harness:
    • Ground
    • Constant power (battery feed)
    • Switch or trigger lead (to your relay or panel switch)

Why choose this

Cooling capacity in a water-to-air system scales with coolant mass flow. More pump flow moves more water through the intercooler per second, which increases heat transfer and pulls the intake charge temperature down. Lower charge temps increase air density, letting you add more fuel and timing safely for higher power, while reducing detonation risk and keeping EGTs in check. A full-power pump gives consistent flow every pass so intake temps stay stable from launch to the finish.

Mounting and plumbing requirements

  • Weep hole must face down for correct seal and bearing orientation
  • Mount the pump below the supply tank to keep it primed and prevent cavitation
    • If you cannot mount it below the tank, use a separate supply or priming pump
  • Keep the suction line short and straight; avoid tight bends and heat sources

Electrical requirements

  • Use a dedicated fused feed with a minimum 30A inline fuse and wire gauge suitable for the current
  • Wire the included harness as ground, constant power, and switch lead through a relay or panel switch

Critical warnings

  • Do not run the pump dry. Prime the system with coolant/water before powering the pump.
  • Verify orientation (weep hole down) and leak-check after first run.
Intended for competition and off-road tractor pulling and drag racing use.
